Quality Images
Last updated: August 7, 2024
If collecting before and after images it is crucial to provide participants with clear examples for what makes a ‘good’ photo. Things to take into account should include lighting, region of image, non distracting background, having things in focus. Ideal images will have affected and unaffected areas shown. It is recommended to take more than one image, some of which can be close up.
Examples should also include ‘bad’ photos of common mistakes.
If a participant is struggling to take quality images it may be helpful to have a study team member follow up with them individually.
